We are proud to share that Race Leys Junior School has been recognised as an ‘Equal Access School 2024’ by Barclays and The Football Association’s (FA) Girls’ Football Schools’ Partnership. This prestigious award recognises the school’s exceptional commitment to promoting equal opportunities for girls in football and highlights its success in creating an inclusive environment for all students to enjoy and participate in sports.

As part of this nationwide initiative, Race Leys has been acknowledged for its tireless efforts in ensuring that girls have the same access to football as boys, fostering a culture of inclusivity and teamwork. With growing participation in girls’ football and the development of talented young athletes, the school has demonstrated its dedication to breaking down barriers and inspiring the next generation of female footballers.

Griffin Schools Trust CEO, Anne Powell, congratulated the school, stating, “We are incredibly proud of Race Leys for receiving this prestigious award. It reflects our Trust’s values of equality and excellence in education, and our determination to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate in sport and develop their skills.”

Head Sue-Ellen Lamb echoed this sentiment: “This award is a huge achievement for our school and is a testament to the hard work of our students, staff, and community. We believe that providing equal access to football, and all sports, enriches the student experience and promotes confidence and teamwork. We are grateful for this recognition and will continue to build on this success.”

Griffin Schools Trust is dedicated to providing equal access to opportunities for all students, and we look forward to seeing how our schools continue to inspire and support the next generation of athletes.
