We are pleased to report the findings of the latest Lammas Ofsted report, which highlights the rapid progress, determination and positive changes that have taken place since the last inspection.
The visit validated the dedication shown by staff, students and leaders, recognising that the school, supported by the Griffin Schools Trust, has made great strides to progress the key priorities and build a thriving learning environment.
Rapid progress in the classroom
Ofsted praised the rigorous, systematic improvements made to daily routines. The report notes that important knowledge is now clearly mapped out, allowing teaching staff to deliver lessons much more effectively.
A key highlight of the report is the introduction of new lesson frameworks, such as the smart start routine. The inspector observed that these strategic updates are working well across the school, providing students with consistent, focused learning structures. Furthermore, the report explicitly recognises that historical published outcomes do not fully reflect the extensive academic improvements that have already been made on the groundby the school and the Trust.
A calm, safe and respectful culture
Lammas students shone during the inspection. Ofsted commended the clear and consistently implemented behaviour policy, noting that it has fostered an overwhelmingly positive environment:
Leaders have high expectations for pupils’ behaviour. They have created a calm and orderly environment. Staff apply routines consistently, and pupils respond with polite, settled behaviour in lessons, corridors and social spaces.

The report also noted that younger students feel safe and exceptionally well-supported by Lammas staff, reflecting the tight-knit, welcoming community we work hard to protect every day.
Commitment to inclusivity and enrichment
The Trust’s vision to support every child was a focus for the two day visit. The inspector highlighted the decisive steps to provide tailored academic support and robust reading initiatives to the pupils who need it most. Our dedicated programme for welcoming and supporting students who are new to the country was also singled out for praise.
Finally, the report celebrated Lammas’ rich Wide Horizons enrichment offer, noting that our pupils are actively thriving through diverse leadership opportunities, trips, cultural experiences and specific initiatives designed to challenge stereotypes, such as successfully encouraging more girls into STEM subjects and sports.
This visit was a welcome reflection of the hard work and shared ambition across our GST schools and an independent validation that the current day-to-day experience of a Lammas student is one of high-quality support, positive engagement and academic progress.
