First Primary Programme Begins!

An exciting development next term will be Action Tutoring’s venture into the primary sector. From early May we will be providing volunteers to work with Year 6 children at Riverley Primary School in Leyton to support them as they prepare for their SATs. Year 6 is a critical time with children feeling the pressure of both achieving well in their SATs and the looming move into secondary school. Many children stumble in Years 7 and 8 despite a very successful time in primary school and we are hoping that as well as boosting results we will also help raise confidence and ease the transition into secondary.

We are thrilled at the opportunity to carry our mission to ensure that all children achieve regardless of background into a younger age bracket. The incredibly supportive head teacher at Riverley, Anne Powell, had the following to say about the programme “Riverley Primary is really excited to be working with Action Tutoring. Our children deserve the best possible opportunities and having a 1-1 tutor who believes in you can make all the difference. As members of the Griffin Schools Trust we believe in promoting Proud Traditions, Wide Horizons and High Achievement and having Graduates to inspire and challenge our pupils is a fantastic way to demonstrate our core values.”
