Griffin Children’s Chorus – A Celebration of Carols

The Griffin Children’s Chorus returned once again to St Giles Without Cripplegate Church in the heart of the Barbican to celebrate the festive music of John Rutter, Bob Chilcott and Benjamin Britten. Congratulations to our wonderful singers who joined the Griffin Schools Trust Director of Music, Lewis Delivett, in this tremendous occasion.
The concert was an exciting culmination following weeks of hard work by the children to prepare for the performance. They performed a collection of traditional Christmas carols, including the very popular Gaudete, which the children performed completely a ‘Capella. The standard of singing was brilliant and the children were joined in song by Helen Sherman, a professional opera singer and our very own Lewis Delivett.
This was an amazing opportunity for those involved and many are eagerly awaiting the next concert. The children deserve a huge amount of praise, after performing brilliantly. All who joined did their school proud, learning some very tricky songs with such enthusiasm.
