Griffin Sports Festival 2019

Nicholas Chamberlaine again played host to the Griffin Sports Festival, and as we expand year on year towards Tokyo 2020, the 2019 event took place over three days. The first two days were held as a residential event at NCS and The Pingles Stadium, and the final day was a house competition in every GST school. Pupils competed in sports, such as archery, orienteering, handball, seated volleyball and boccia, with the highlight being the full triathlon event. We welcomed a guest primary school, Weddington Primary School, the British Triathlon Trust and our special guest, the local Mayoress, who presented the medals to our winners. Director of Music, Lewis Delivett led a rousing rendition of the Hakka and our Trust anthem, Jerusalem. This year, the Champions Cup was awarded to Nicholas Chamberlaine School, with a very close second place awarded to Lordswood Primary. A special thanks was given to the Nicholas Chamberlaine sports leaders who supported the full two-day event.
