GSF 2017

Celebrating sport

The Trust’s theme this year was ‘Protest; Our Voices in the World’.

Our second Griffin Sports Festival took place on 27th September 2017 at Nicholas Chamberlaine School.

Students in attendance competed in our six main disciplines throughout the day – a duathlon, orienteering, archery, handball, sitting volleyball and curling.

Special Guests

Danielle Brown (MBE) – an English competitive archer who won a gold medal at both the Beijing and London Paralympics. She is also a three times World Champion who made history at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi by being the first Paralympian to represent England in an able-bodied discipline.

Clare Cunningham – a former Paralympic Champion swimmer and international para-triathlete for Great Britain. At the age of 15 Clare won a gold and four silver medals in the 1992 Paralympic Games in Barcelona. Even though she retired from competitive swimming in 1996 and pursued a career in forensic accounting, she discovered the triathlon and was a regular medallist at World and European Championships until her retirement in 2016.
