About
The Festival

The Griffin Sports Festival (GSF) is the annual celebration of all things sport across each Griffin Schools Trust (GST) school.

The Griffin Sports Festival was first launched in September 2016 to enrich our children’s sporting knowledge and broaden their experiences. We will continue to raise the profile of sport and physical activity both in our schools and local communities by developing strong partnerships and creating opportunities for our children to excel and try new activities.

The objectives of the Sports Festival:

The start of a new school year is a great time to set goals and challenge yourself, and GSF is the perfect opportunity for everyone to achieve great things. The GSF team always looks forward to seeing fantastic displays of individual and team triumph.

The Griffin Sports Festival

comprises of:

A week focused on sport and physical activity in each GST school, where a high quality programme of different sports is delivered to every GST child and young person. Sports that have previously featured include dodgeball, cricket, sitting volleyball, curling, gymnastics and rounders.

A week of hub competitions where our South East and Midlands hubs collaborate for an intra-school sporting experience. This is an opportunity for our children to take part in organised competitive sport all in the spirit of fair play.

A final coming together of every GST school at an action packed Olympic Games style event. Each school sends 12 representatives to compete against one another in events such as athletics, swimming, archery, rowing and handball. This event is the pinnacle of this period and will continue to grow so that we are able to celebrate our love and enthusiasm for sport each year.

Just believe in yourself. Even if you don’t pretend that you do, and at some point, you will.
