Its the final countdown!

Graham Clifford, Head of Willow Brook, is following in the footsteps of our Founder Ange Tyler and running the Virgin London Marathon on behalf of the Trust. All money raised will go to our preferred charity of 2017/18: MACs.

MACS stands for Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia and Coloboma Support and it is the UK’s national charity for children born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes. If you would like to find out more about the amazing work MACS do please visit their website:

The marathon will be taking place this Sunday the 23rd April. I asked Graham how his training had been going and how he felt about the big day coming up and he said:

“After a full year preparing, building up distances and running in snow and rain I am finally ‘tapering,’ which means not running at all and eating lots of carbohydrates to prepare for the big day on Sunday.

It will be a privilege to be running in support of the MACS charity and be inspiring pupils, and staff, from across all GST schools, to make a positive difference for the less fortunate by taking direct action.

In the meantime, its more pasta and potatoes for me and early to bed each night before the off. Wish me luck and please, please donate all you can for MACS who do amazing work.”
