NCS Student named finalist in Theatre Competition

24/04/2019

Theatre Centre brings world-class theatre straight into the heart of schools. Their productions present big ideas and difficult questions that can help young audiences make sense of a complex and changing world. They use the power of stories, writing and performance to support students and teachers in their learning across a range of subjects to build confidence and aspirations.

#SpeakYourPeace is Theatre Centre’s digital festival of monologues and a national competition exploring the role of peace and protest since 1918, in response to the centenary of the First World War Armistice.  The #SpeakYourPeace monologue competition encouraged young people across the country to get inspired by the monologues in the festival and write their own exploring what peace and protest means to them today.

Finalists were chosen by Theatre Centre’s patron and award-winning playwright Roy Williams OBE:

Your Favourite Angel by Scarlet McElwee

Macmillan Academy

Finalist (Second place)

Mind Monster by Corlee Haverty
